Should we add a whitelist?

I know that we want the public server to be the story one, but there's a lot of worry. People continuously connect, find that someone else is on, and disconnect. This would be all fine and dandy if I wouldn't reconnect a few minutes later and find them pretending not to see the chat and have to use the /list command to find them. 1/2 of the new members we added within the month were griefers (verde and flaming griefed, Beans and Titan contributed top the well-being of the server). Since 1.6.3 was just released, is there a possibility of going into the settings and possibly adding a whitelist? I'm only posting this because I worry about griefers.

Beans and Titan WEREN'T griefers. Verde and flaming WERE griefers

WHITELIST FTW!!!

Or, we keep it public and there is build rights, or we have a warp only members of MG can go to, and the spawn is inside a bedrock box with some torches and some signs saying "Sorry, you must be on Monument Gaming Forum to get to play. Go to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to get whitelisted." (Indestructible/regenerating once broken and doesn't drop anything, there is a plugin for that,) Free advertising! We should have some code or something they need to crack, with the individual letters/numbers/symbols hidden around the forum, or even elsewhere(?), each with clues about the topic they are in. That way, we could easily eliminate griefers, and find the good people out there!

Beans and Titan are awesome dudes, so whitelist/add them to warp for sure!

I'm not sure about the code thing, but otherwise, I totally agree.

Except I never met Beans or Titan, so I suppose it would be impossible for me to agree with you there either.

The reason for the code is so people just don't go on, register, send a whitelist form-thingy, get on, and grief. That way we find the good people. The people requesting whitelisting would have to send it to an admin, so the code wouldn't be revealed. If the person reveals it, an admin could also remove the post and ban the poster. If you need help with that, I could do it.

But what if there was someone who isn't a griefer, but is bad at puzzles?

...Or am I not understanding this at all?

The code would be maybe 6-8 characters long? Finding letters, numbers, and symbols wouldn't be too hard, there would be clues and the character would probably be separated from the post. Example:

Maro, is that building on the freebuild server yours? It is HUGE!

The blue question mark is what he is talking about. Right click it, and click open image in new tab or window.
